The Project titled “Development of lubricants and fuels from waste plastics” is funded by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Kerala Government (Rs 30,27,000/-)and developed by College of Engineering Trivandrum. The project aims to develop various value-added products to meet the energy demand of the world from the zero-value input like plastic waste which is also a major cause of pollution. The optimization of different kinds of input feed will help to maximize the yield of various value-added products such as lubricants, fuels etc. based upon the demand from the industrial sector. Thus, the proposed solution is expected to be a zero-waste technology where, along with the lubricant base-stock, only char will be formed as a by-product which can be used for construction purposes.
