The International Conference on Advanced Materials and Startup Ecosystem, organized by the Trivandrum Engineering Science and Technology (TrEST) Research Park, commenced with great success on December 13, 2024, at the CGPU Hall of the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET). This highly anticipated inaugural event brought together a diverse audience of researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, academicians, and students from across the globe to explore advancements in materials science and entrepreneurship.
The conference was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister for Higher Education, Prof. R. Bindu, who emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration between advanced research and startup ecosystems to address global challenges. The inaugural session included a warm welcome by Dr. Shalij P.R, Chief Executive Officer, TrEST Research Park, followed by inspiring remarks by Dr. Sabu Thomas, felicitations by Suresh Babu V, Principal , College of Engineering, Trivandrum and a vote of thanks by Dr. Hanna J. Maria.
Day one featured an impressive lineup of keynote addresses and plenary sessions, led by global experts, focusing on innovations in nanomaterials, biomaterials, functional materials, and photonic technologies. Technical presentations and poster sessions provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their research, while interactive discussions delved into themes such as entrepreneurial finance, green innovation, and sustainable business practices. Panel discussions underscored the transformative potential of interdisciplinary research and its role in addressing critical challenges in industries like healthcare, FinTech, climate tech, and education.
The vibrant exchange of ideas and seamless organization were widely praised by participants. The day concluded with enthusiastic participation in poster and short talk competitions, setting an energetic tone for the remaining days. The conference, running until December 15, offers additional opportunities for networking and publishing selected research in prestigious journals, solidifying TrEST’s position as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship with a significant societal and environmental impact.
